International network
Guiding Architects is an international network for architectural guided tours. Our members are independent companies, offering professional architecture tours in the region or city where they are based. Everything is possible, from short walks to no-worries architecture travel packages. During the tours, current architectural developments, urban contexts, social and political backgrounds and many other issues are presented in an enjoyable and informative way. We currently offer architecture tours in 45 destinations all over the world. See the most interesting modern architecture, visit important buildings and experience exciting city districts – all accompanied by an expert guide.

High quality architecture tours
The programmes are organized by our tried-and-tested local member companies. They are specialists for architecture tours and travel in their location. Being based in the countries where they organize the tours, they have excellent connections to the local architectural scene and can recommend the best places and projects to visit. This is what distinguishes the members of Guiding Architects from other tour organizations! Reservations for transport, accommodation and restaurants are also part of our service. We are happy to prepare a comprehensive architecture itinerary for your trip. If you like, we can provide an all-round no-worries programme for you. Just let us know your specific interests and our local Guiding Architects will do the rest.

Professional background in architecture
All our guides have a professional background in architecture. They have extensive knowledge of the building culture in their country, from construction process to planning politics. They possess lots of guiding experience and always adapt their explanations to the needs and wishes of the group. You will share their first-hand experience of the architecture of your destination. And what’s more, they’re excellent communicators and share the participants’ interests and enthusiasm. During our architecture tours, the guides take you to the most interesting places in their city, telling you the stories behind the architecture and the anecdotes which you will never read in magazines. Discover your destination through the eyes of an architect!

HAPPY CLIENTS

“Exceeded my expectations. The guide was very knowledgeable, approachable, accomodating. I am now fascinated by the subject matter of ottoman and byzantine mosques.”
Lance Stone (Istanbul, June 2015)
“The participants were blown away. They had never experienced such a good architecture tour before!”
Edward Lifson, The Pritzker Prize (Amsterdam, June 2014)
“Just a little note to say thank you for your services. (…) We’ve all learned a lot about Berlin and about architectural theory and history, we’ve been well looked after and feel that a return to Berlin should happen soon.”
SUSANNE WILBERG, ARCHUS ARCHITEKTEN (Berlin, October 2011)
“It was very refreshing to have a tour presented by an architect for architects. In the past, during our previous office trips to many other cities in North America we have tried to find similar tours and we never really found anything like it.”
JEFF CHAPUT, BARRY J. HOBIN & ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS (Madrid, 2014)
“Yet again, the combination of building visits and visits to architecture and design offices in Copenhagen proved a great mix!”
Claudia Epple, erleben! Reisen + Events (Copenhagen, 2014)
“As this was my first architecture tour with GA I was not certain what to expect and was worried that the tour would be too architecturally centred.  This was not the case. Arne did a wonderful job of combining architecturally interesting sites with historical relevant locales, and with city features not readily accessible to the average tourist.”
Dr. Mark Neeser, European Southern Observatory (Budapest, April 2015)
“The selection of projects and their presentation left no question unanswered. Building methods and historical, architectural and social context were all presented in a more than satisfactory manner. Thank you so much!”
Rodolfo Nogales, gna Grimbacher Nogales Architekten (Barcelona, April 2015)
“We had a great time in Amsterdam. The information and presentation materials were excellent. The maps and floor plans gave us insight into the evolution of Amsterdam as well as the designs of the buildings.”
Joseph Ngui (Amsterdam, June 2015)
“The two very good and interesting tours made us understand Prague much better. Very recommendable!”
Ingo Gralka, Bund Deutscher Baumeister (Prague, May 2015)
