International network
Guiding Architects is an international network for architectural guided tours. Our members are independent companies, offering professional architecture tours in the region or city where they are based. Everything is possible, from focused tours on foot, bicycle or bus to multiple-day itineraries. Each tour contextualises projects within their physical, cultural, fiscal and political context, teasing out the ‘why’ of architecture whilst revealing the invisible forces that give cities form. See the most interesting modern and contemporary architecture, visit important buildings and experience exciting city districts – all accompanied by an expert guide.

High quality architecture tours
Tour programmes are organized by our tried-and-tested local member companies who are professionals that specialise in architecture tours in their location. Being locals, they have excellent connections to the architectural scene and can construct itineraries that target your group’s specific area of interest. We are happy to organise reservations for transport, accommodation and restaurants and can provide an all-round no-worries programme for you if requested. Let us know your specific interests and our local Guiding Architects will do the rest.

Professional background in architecture
All our guides have a professional background in architecture with first-hand knowledge of the design and building culture in their country. We pride ourselves on being excellent communicators and tour content is adapted to a level appropriate to your group. With Guiding Architects you will discover the most interesting, unique and precious aspects of each location as we reveal the stories behind the architecture and share with you the ‘why’ of the city. We look forward to sharing our passion and expertise with you.

“Exceeded my expectations. The guide was very knowledgeable, approachable, accomodating. I am now fascinated by the subject matter of ottoman and byzantine mosques.”
Lance Stone (Istanbul, June 2015)
“The participants were blown away. They had never experienced such a good architecture tour before!”
Edward Lifson, The Pritzker Prize (Amsterdam, June 2014)
“Just a little note to say thank you for your services. (…) We’ve all learned a lot about Berlin and about architectural theory and history, we’ve been well looked after and feel that a return to Berlin should happen soon.”
“It was very refreshing to have a tour presented by an architect for architects. In the past, during our previous office trips to many other cities in North America we have tried to find similar tours and we never really found anything like it.”
“Yet again, the combination of building visits and visits to architecture and design offices in Copenhagen proved a great mix!”
Claudia Epple, erleben! Reisen + Events (Copenhagen, 2014)
“As this was my first architecture tour with GA I was not certain what to expect and was worried that the tour would be too architecturally centred.  This was not the case. Arne did a wonderful job of combining architecturally interesting sites with historical relevant locales, and with city features not readily accessible to the average tourist.”
Dr. Mark Neeser, European Southern Observatory (Budapest, April 2015)
“The selection of projects and their presentation left no question unanswered. Building methods and historical, architectural and social context were all presented in a more than satisfactory manner. Thank you so much!”
Rodolfo Nogales, gna Grimbacher Nogales Architekten (Barcelona, April 2015)
“We had a great time in Amsterdam. The information and presentation materials were excellent. The maps and floor plans gave us insight into the evolution of Amsterdam as well as the designs of the buildings.”
Joseph Ngui (Amsterdam, June 2015)
“The two very good and interesting tours made us understand Prague much better. Very recommendable!”
Ingo Gralka, Bund Deutscher Baumeister (Prague, May 2015)
