After 33 years of controversies, two national architecture competitions and two international ones, the big day has arrived: the New Museum of Acropolis, a work by Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi, is ready to welcome its first visitors.
For Greek officials, the opening of the museum is an opportunity to cement public support for the opinion that the Marbles of Parthenon – transported to the United Kingdom by British Ambassador Lord Elgin in the early 19th century – should be returned to the Acropolis. From 21 June 2009 to 31 December 2009, the entrance fee for all visitors is only 1 euro. E-tickets are available on the museum’s website.

ga-Paris and the Pavillon de l’Arsenal have signed an agreement of collaboration to discover the history of Paris, to analyse the contemporary city and to understand the metropolis of tomorrow.
Created in 1988, the Pavillon de l’Arsenal is a centre for information, documentation and exhibition of urbanism and today’s architecture of Paris, a unique place where the development of the city and the new architectural projects are presented to everyone. More than 300 architectural projects, 940 hectares of ongoing urban operations and six large territories in continuous mutation are introduced to explain the city of today and of tomorrow.
ga-Paris has included the Pavillon in its standard visits. We will also inform our guests of the activities of the Pavillon via our website as well as this blog.

A composition for highway A40 – the most important east-west traffic connection in the Ruhr area, which cuts across the urban space, connecting people in one sweeping motion. It’s one of the highways with the highest traffic volumes in Germany.
The duration of “Symphony A40″ corresponds to the time it takes to ride along A40 at a constant speed of 90 km/h. Mongkok was inspired by a journey from Dortmund in the east of the Ruhr area to Duisburg in the western part of the region.
“Symphonie A40″ is published and presented by FAR, the Rhein-Ruhr member of guiding-architects.net.
The CD is available in German, Austrian and Swiss bookstores (ISBN 978-3-00-027017-8). For orders in other countries, please send an email to FAR: mail@far.la . FAR delivers the CD worldwide. Also available from Amazon.
