Nouvel’s, Herzog & de Meuron’s or Gaudí’s world famous buildings are embedded in an extremely compact and multilayered city structure. Since its foundation by the Romans more than two thousand years ago, the Catalonian metropolis has been marked by its relationship to the sea, a relationship that is perhaps – even today – the most important economic feature of the city and one that contributes most to its identity. In the last decades and in particular since the ‘92 Olympic Games, the pending solution to the problem of the new pathway to the sea, the introduction of new infrastructure buildings and the reurbanization of the obsolete industrial zones have been the starting point for a profound rethinking of the city: a laboratory for urban planning architectural strategies. G¬A Architectural Guided Tours tells you how, where, and why.
G¬A Architectural Guided Tours organizes guided tours and events focused on architecture, in Barcelona. We can provide architectural guided tours that are efficiently conducted and logistically drawn up, so as to give you a clearer view of the architecture, urban planning, art and culture and their sociopolitical context. Our strength lies in the field of contemporary architecture and urban landscape as well as in pointing out Barcelona’s current urban strategies.
Our tours are primarily oriented to a public specialized in the field of architecture: architects, urban planners, landscape architects, but also construction firms, real estate organizations, housing cooperatives, politicians, city authorities, planning authorities, students of architecture and of landscape architecture, etc. However, we not only enjoy addressing our professional colleagues, we are also pleased to occasionally address the layman interested in architectural activity in general.
Led by selected architects in German, English, Spanish, Catalan or Russian.
