Walk along New York’s new elevated High Line Park (Field Operations/ Diller Scofidio + Renfro) through the Chelsea gallery district with projects by Jean Nouvel, Shigeru Ban, Frank Gehry, Neil Denari and Future Systems. Tour new gallery buildings and renovations by Richard Gluckman, Selldorf Architects and OMA, and visit selected exhibitions in some of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries. In the former Meatpacking District we will visit buildings by SHoP, Matthew Baird and Handel Architects, a store by Mateo Thun, a restaurant by Tadao Ando, as well as the new Whitney Museum by Renzo Piano (under construction). The tour can be extended to a full day tour, in combination with projects in the West Village by Richard Meier, Asymptote and others.

Chelsea Gallery District

interior visit of selected galleries – including the new David Zwirner Gallery by Annabelle Selldorf, 2013

Start of the tour in front of Think Coffee, located on 8th Avenue between 14th & 13th Street, right at the A/C/E train station 14th Street and the L train station 8th Avenue.

Coffee break in the Chelsea Market or on the High Line, for extended tour also a lunch break at the Chelsea Market or a burger lunch at Bubby’s or the Half King or Japanese at Tadao Ando’s restaurant morimoto.

The tour ends in Chelsea with the opportunity to individually visit further exhibitions.
