Tour in New York:
Brooklyn & Queens - Transformation Along the East River

Opposite Manhattan, a continuous green waterfront is taking shape along the shores of Brooklyn and Queens, where former port facilities and industrial sites are being reshaped into parks and mixed-use districts with publicly accessible esplanades.

Our journey takes us via ferry from Brooklyn Bridge Park to Domino Park and continuous along the Williamsburg-Greenpoint shoreline to Hunters Point South Park in Queens. All three parks share a focus on stormwater management, each applying different strategies. The use of sustainable materials, the mix of active and passive recreation areas, and the integration of site-specific industrial features also play central roles in their design.

As we travel along the East River, we examine innovative planning strategies and unconventional financing models, along with the new buildings and adapted warehouses that help fund the creation of the green waterfront.

On our journey, we pass under all three bridges linking Brooklyn and Manhattan and take in sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.
