Among 8 proposals by masters such as David Chipperfield, Daniel Libeskind, Kengo Kuma and Dominique Perrault, the municipality of Turin has selected the project presented by Spanish architect Rafael Moneo with Isolarchitetti to transform Pier Luigi Nervi’s 1948 hall into a new local library and university campus. The building is a milestone in modern engineering and architecture, thanks to Nervi’s (1891-1979) pioneering use of reinforced concrete.
