The architectural tour begins at the ‘Dancing Towers’. From here, we walk across Spielbudenplatz to the planned Paloma Quarter (formerly Esso high-rise buildings) and the Reeperbahn clubhouse. Via the Bavaria site, once the site of the Bavaria St. Pauli brewery, through small side streets past the new residential complex on Schmuckstraße, the tour takes us to the Pestalozzi Quarter and finally ends at the Hamburg Bunker with its spectacular new roof garden. The St. Pauli tour highlights the current developments in this world-famous district and showcases the new architecture in the ‘Kiez’, which is emerging amid the tension between the red-light district and gentrification.
