Tour in Lisbon:
Sustainable living in Lisbon

Cycling along the Tagus bike lane as a native alfacinha offers a way to experience how the city connects sustainable mobility with contemporary public-space interventions. This lane is part of a wider network of cycling lanes developed by the municipality as a cornerstone of its sustainability strategy.

Along this stretch, the approach becomes evident in the reconfiguration of the waterfront. A concentrated Cruise Terminal has released land for a continuous green park, while areas such as Ribeira das Naus and Campo das Cebolas have been recovered for public use with renewed access to the river. The elevation of the Coach Museum maintains the flow of the surrounding streets, and the MAAT’s roof forms a walkable structure linked to an adjacent 3.8-hectare area shaped through the same principles. Experiencing these spaces reveals how Lisbon integrates mobility, landscape, and architecture to support more sustainable living.
