Tour in Malaga:
Urban Evolution and contemporary Architecture

Málaga has been an important commercial port in the Mediterranean for all the civilisations that have populated its streets throughout its history. With Phoenician, Roman and Arab remains, in the 18th century the city became a great wine export centre, as evidenced by its magnificent baroque buildings, witness to this prosperity.

In recent years Málaga has undergone a remarkable transformation, planning its development around two main lines of action: a historic center as a cultural and gastronomic enclave, and the promotion of a technology and IT industry that takes advantage of the synergies between university and companies, aided by its airport and its high-speed train.

In this effort, the planning of sustainable growth strategies plays a fundamental role, in fields like public transport, urban lighting and water management, among others. Similarly, we also find interesting examples of near-zero energy buildings, as well as ingenious improvements to existing buildings.
