Tour in Istanbul:
Changing Continents, Life on the Asian side

Our journey through the Asian side of Istanbul begins in Üsküdar, a district, where 16th-century mosques and markets still shape daily life. From there, a metro ride to Fikirtepe takes us into a striking story of urban transformation. Once a prehistoric mound, the area became a haven for Anatolian migrants in the 1950s, growing into a lively settlement. In 2011, the government started to clear the neighborhood for luxury high-rises, leaving behind — after years of struggle — a haunting mix of some finished but mostly unfinished towers and remains of the old homes.

Things are different in Kadıköy, a district full of life. Yeldeğirmeni, with its 19th-century roots, has emerged as a creative young neighborhood, while the fish market and surrounding streets of Kadiköy pulse with energy. Our tour concludes at Moda ferry station.
