Tour in Aarhus:
Cultural Landmarks and Urban Transformations

Aarhus stands as a beacon in Denmark’s cultural landscape, known for its strong presence in art, music, education and architecture. Explore some of the key institutions that define its creative identity and shape its public life.

Cultural and architectural projects such as DOKK1, ARoS, and the Aarhus School of Architecture illustrate how culture and education continue to shape the city.

Also on a bigger scale, former industrial areas like Sydhavnen (the South Port) are being reimagined as creative districts. New cultural and office spaces are emerging while the existing meatpacking district, its industrial fabric, and the small businesses and creatives already based there are largely being preserved. The plan is to retain the area's raw, grassroots feel even as new developments take shape - among them, Denmark’s tallest timber building “Træ”.
