Tour in Lausanne:
Plateforme 10 and City Centre

Originally a Celtic and Roman settlement on the shores of Lake Geneva, Lausanne became a city at the foot of Notre-Dame, a cathedral built in the 12th century. Known for its southward-sloping layout, the city center is built over the site of the former Flon River, covered since the 19th century. In the 20th century, Lausanne became the Olympic capital, hosting the International Olympic Committee, and today it is the new cultural hub of western Switzerland thanks to the creation of the Plateforme 10 museum district.

During this tour, you will explore the city’s urban development through its most important landmarks, from the Middle Ages to the present. You will begin by discovering the architectural masterpiece of the Parliament building. We will then explore the city’s unique geography through its medieval center, continue through the reinvented industrial district and the new urban hub known as Flon, and conclude the tour at the new museum campus, Plateforme 10.
