Tour in Olot:
RCR Arquitectes

The Comeback of the Genius Loci

In and around Olot, Pritzker Prize-winning architects Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem, and Ramon Vilalta have created a body of work deeply rooted in its local context, arising from a dialogue between architecture and landscape.

RCR’s buildings are characterized by spatial continuity between interior and exterior, with poetic, sculptural forms that counter the placelessness often associated with globalization. Their work integrates materiality, light, and landscape to create spaces that are harmonious, evocative, and site-specific.

This tour offers an in-depth exploration of key projects, providing architects, students, and enthusiasts with insights into context-driven, sustainable, and expressive contemporary architecture that engages meaningfully with both community and environment.
