Tour in Bordeaux:
Under development: the Right Bank

La Bastide, Bordeaux’s right bank, was long a working-class and industrial district, characterized by its topographical isolation and vulnerability to runoff from the surrounding hills. Historically the "core" of the city’s transport and port activities, it housed factories, warehouses, and workshops before experiencing post-industrial decline.

Today, Bastide-Niel embodies its transformation, blending brownfield redevelopment, emerging economies, architectural experimentation, and landscape integration while preserving its industrial heritage. Further upland, the Brazza project explores innovative housing solutions in response to the middle-class exodus from the city center. Between them, Parc aux Angéliques anticipates the future with climate-resilient design and adaptive land use.

This itinerary can be tailored, and other districts are available for exploration.
