Tour in Bilbao:
From the Center to the Harbour

At the start of the day, we take the funicular up to the Artxanda viewpoint, which offers an ideal vantage point from which to explore and understand the city of Bilbao and its metropolitan area. An introduction provides the necessary context for the relatively recent and dramatic development of the region, enabling us to correctly classify the sites we will visit later. Back in the city centre, we find a multitude of buildings by renowned architects in the Abandoibarra district, between the Euskalduna Congress Centre and the Guggenheim Museum. After a lunch break in the city centre, we take a circular tour through the metropolitan area until the harbour. During our stops, we visit two areas where enormous challenges have been overcome with creative solutions and perseverance. After seeing the outstanding Puente Colgante (UNESCO monument), we take the metro and its stations designed by Norman Foster back to the city centre.
