Tour in Bilbao:
Development Areas in the Metropolitan Area

The round trip through the metropolitan area perfectly complements a tour of Bilbao city centre and illustrates the challenges that have been overcome in many places in the greater metropolitan area or are still awaiting a solution today. On the left bank of the river, we drive out to the harbour with a few stops along the way. We visit the Ametzola area with its newly created urban topography and the Galindo area in Barakaldo, which stands on the site of a former blast furnace. At the harbour, we visit and use the Puente Colgante (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and take the metro back to the city centre on the right bank of the river. The tour ends at Norman Foster's metro stations, which are considered a global benchmark for this type of construction.
