Tour in Seville:
The City of International Exhibitions

This tour presents the evolution of Seville from its origins, then focuses on the city’s urban development over the last 150 years, and concludes by analysing its capacity to respond to current demographic and environmental challenges.

As the regional capital since the age of discoveries, Seville played an important role throughout the 20th century. This is reflected in the two international exhibitions that transformed its urban form: the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929 and the Universal Exposition of 1992, both organised around the river. Each structured new urban expansions and left behind pavilions and public spaces of great interest, today recognised internationally.

This tour includes both exhibition areas to understand their impact on Seville’s current growth and urban form.
