Tour in Düsseldorf:
The Media Harbour

Since the 1990s, Düsseldorf's former industrial harbour has been undergoing redevelopment, initially in the northern area adjacent to the old town. The Kaistraße Studios by David Chipperfield and the Neue Zollhof by Frank Gehry are well-known architectural landmarks from this period.

More recent additions include the sop building complex at the tip of the peninsula crossed by Speditionstraße, with a pedestrian bridge, an office building and two glass twin towers housing the Hyatt Regency. This peninsula is also home to ‘The Cradle’ by HPP Architects, Düsseldorf's first hybrid timber office building. The Plange Mühle Campus by Ingenhoven architects shows the conversion of a wood and concrete silo into modern office space. With the Pier One project, Ingenhoven aims to connect the harbour arms with four new bridges, thus creating a new network of paths in the area.
